In brief
A slide can hold one or more images, or one or more videos, depending on what the template provides. Everything is managed from the 1. Editing step, Content tab: you replace the sample media with your own, then adjust its framing for each format.
Depending on the type of media, you then have an additional option: Edit montage for a video, Turn into video for an image.
Before you start 🎯
Some slides contain several placeholders: repeat the same actions on each media item.
Prepare your photos, videos and logos in a dedicated folder before you start.
Favor sharp, high-resolution media: they will be displayed in several formats.
How to add media to a slide
Step 1: Replace the media of the slide
In the 1. Editing step, Content tab, click the slide to edit in the lower part of the editor.
Then click the current media to replace it with other media from your device. You can also click the ... icon, then Edit to delete the current media, and finally the grey square to import new media.
To choose media from our royalty-free library, click Media library and search by keyword.
Step 2: Set the area to keep
To adjust the framing, click the ... icon on the media, then Set the area to keep.
Resize or crop your media with the selection tool, and check the result for each format (ratio).
The Fill or Fit option defines how your media adapts to each format. Check the result in the preview.
Step 3: Adjust your media according to its type
This step is optional. The options available depend on the media on the slide.
🎬 Video: edit the montage
Click the … icon on the video, then Edit montage. The Edit your media window opens, with the video and its timeline. You can:
Choose the part to keep: move the start and end handles on the timeline. You can also place the playhead where you want, then click the in point (→|) or out point (|←) icon to set the start or the end at that moment.
Listen to and watch the part: click Play. The loop icon lets you replay the part continuously while you adjust it; it does not change the final video.
Zoom in on the timeline with the + and − icons, for more precise adjustment on a long video.
Mute or unmute the original sound of the video, with Mute or Unmute.
Click Save to apply your settings, or Cancel to go back.
Good to know: some slides set a minimum or maximum length for the video: the handles then stop at that limit. On some slides, the sound of videos is muted automatically and cannot be turned back on.
🪄 Do you have the Elite plan? Bring the images in your slides to life with AI: click the … icon on the image, then Turn into video. Camera movements, furniture appearing, timelapse: all the effects are explained in the article ➡️ Turning a photo into a video with AI.
Step 4: Save your changes
Repeat the process on the other media and the other slides, then click Next.
Very important: go to the 3. Sharing step and click Generate project so that your changes are taken into account.
If your project has already been generated, the button is called Regenerate project.
FAQ
1. Which media formats are accepted?
Danim accepts the formats of your everyday photos and videos:
Smartphone photos: JPG, HEIC / HEIF (iPhone)
Web images and visuals: PNG, WEBP, AVIF, SVG
High-quality images: TIFF
Videos: MP4, MOV (iPhone) and WEBM
2. What should I do if my media is cut off in some formats?
Go back to the 1. Editing step, click the media concerned and use Set the area to keep to reposition it. Try Fill and Fit, and check the preview in each format before generating.
3. What happens if I change media after generating my project?
Changes are only taken into account after a new generation: go to the 3. Sharing step and click Regenerate project. Danim then generates a new version, which replaces the old one.
Best practices 🎓
Avoid placing important elements (text, logo, face) too close to the edges: they may be cut off in some ratios.
Scroll through all the formats in the preview before generating.
Favor short, dynamic videos to keep the focus on what matters.
