The Start from scratch card lets you create a fully customized video, without starting from a pre-built template.

You choose your slides one by one, add your text, your photos or videos, then adjust the brand identity and the music before generating your project. Your video is generated in four formats: square, landscape, portrait and reduced portrait.

It is the ideal solution if you want to create a 100% custom format for your brand image.

Before you start 🎯

The experience is more comfortable on a computer, with a stable connection and an up-to-date browser (Google Chrome preferably).
Prepare your property photos, your logo and your main text in advance (title, short description, key features, price, contact details).
Think about the order of the information: for example Slide 1: hook → Slide 2: key features of the property → Slide 3: photo tour → Slide 4: call to action / contact details.

Creating a video from scratch

Step 1: Log in and open the editor

Step 2: Discover the editor interface

You will find 3 simple steps: 1. Editing, 2. Finalization and 3. Sharing. The Finalization and Sharing steps become available as soon as you have added a first slide.

Your video will be generated in all four formats. To check how it looks in each format, use the buttons above the preview.

Click the title of your project to change it, for example: "House in Othis".

Step 3: Add the first slide

Click the Add my first slide button, in other words, start creating the slides of your video.

The Add a slide window opens.

To find the ideal slide, you can use the search and the filters on the left side, the Find the ideal slide assistant, or scroll through the sections to see the options.

Step 4: Customize each slide of your video (1. Editing)

Select a slide: the left panel offers up to three tabs.

Content: fill in the fields of the slide (text, images, videos, contact details, price, and so on). To add, replace or crop a photo or a video ➡️ Adding media to a slide
Identity: adapt the colors and the logo of the slide. By default, they use your brand identity.
Advanced mode: fine-tune the layout, the text size or the animations. The settings available vary from one slide to another.

To manage the slides of your video:

to move from one slide to another, click its thumbnail below the preview, or use the Previous and Next buttons at the bottom of the form.
add a slide with the + button in the timeline (the + between two slides adds it at that exact spot)
duplicate or delete a slide with the … icon on it

Click Save at any time to save your changes as a draft. To continue, click Next or go directly to the 2. Finalization step.

Step 5: Choose the music (2. Finalization)

In the 2. Finalization step, choose your music from our royalty-free library, import your own file, or turn the music off. You can then choose which part of the track to use.

Once you have finished, click Next or go directly to the 3. Sharing step.

Step 6: Generate the project (3. Sharing)

To finish creating your video, you can:

click the Save button to keep your project as a draft, or
in the 3. Sharing step, click the Generate project button. Your video is generated in all four formats.

Once the generation is complete, you can schedule it to be posted on your social media using the Create & schedule posts button.

If you prefer, click the Download button to save the project to your computer or phone: choose the format you want, or Download all to get them all.

You can also click Copy share link: Danim then generates a link that you can send directly to a client (by using "Paste" or Ctrl + V), for example on WhatsApp.

FAQ

1. Where can I find "Start from scratch" in Danim?
After logging in, the Start from scratch card is at the top of the home page. It opens the editor directly, without any slides.

2. Can I use slides from the library even when starting from scratch?
Yes. By clicking Add my first slide, then the + button in the timeline, you access the slide library. You can combine as many slides as needed to build your own video structure.

3. In which formats is my video generated?
Your video is generated in four formats suited to social media: Square (1:1), Landscape (16:9), Portrait (9:16) and Reduced portrait (4:5). You cannot remove one: when you download or post, simply choose the one you want.

4. How do I change the colors or the logo of my slides?
In the Identity tab of each slide. Everything is explained in the article Customizing the identity and advanced settings of a slide.

5. How do I change or turn off the music?
In the 2. Finalization step. Everything is explained in the article Choosing and setting the music of your video.

6. Which image and video formats are accepted in slides?
They are detailed in the article Adding media to a slide.

Best practices 🎓

Plan your outline before you start: decide on the number of slides (intro, tour, practical information, conclusion) to keep your video clear and dynamic.
Limit the total length to about 30 seconds to 1 minute for social media: favor short sentences and key messages for each slide.
Click Save regularly to avoid losing any changes and to keep a usable draft version.
Make the most of AI (Turn into video, Find the ideal slide assistant) to save time, but always check the final result and read your text out loud to make sure it is clear.
