In brief
Duplicate an existing project to make a new version of it, with the same template, the same text and the same visuals. You can duplicate a project from My projects or directly from the editor, while you are working on it.
You can also permanently delete a project from My projects, using the … menu of each project.
Before you start 🎯
To be duplicated, a project must contain at least one slide.
Duplicating creates a new, separate project: the original is not changed.
Deletion is irreversible: a deleted project cannot be restored.
The experience is more comfortable on a computer, with a stable Internet connection and an up-to-date browser (Google Chrome preferably).
How to duplicate or delete a project
Step 1: Go to the My projects library
Log in to Danim and click My projects in the left side menu.
You will be taken to the projects library.
Step 2: Duplicate a project
From My projects
Hover over the project you want to duplicate, click the ... icon, then Duplicate.
The new project appears in the library and is named "Copy" followed by the title of the original.
From the editor
Are you working on a project? Click the … icon (More actions) at the top right of the editor, then Duplicate.
Danim first saves your changes, then creates the copy. A Your copy is ready. message appears: click View copy to open it. Until you click, you stay on the original project.
Renaming and generating the copy
To rename the duplicated project, open it, click the title in the top left corner, make the changes you want, then press Enter on your keyboard.
To make the project available for posting, go to the 3. Sharing step and click Generate project.
If you want to make other changes, see our tutorial article: ➡️ How to edit a video or an image on Danim
Step 3: Delete a project
Reminder: this action is irreversible.
In My projects, hover over the project you want to delete, click the ... icon, then Delete.
Click Cancel or Confirm (to confirm the deletion).
If the project has scheduled posts, they are canceled and removed from the calendar. Posts that have already been published stay in the calendar.
FAQ
1. Does duplicating change my original project?
No. When you click Duplicate, Danim creates an independent copy of your project (same template, same text, same visuals). You can then edit this copy without affecting the original.
It is ideal for creating variants (for example for another town, another social network or another campaign) while keeping your starting design.
2. Can I recover a project deleted by mistake?
No. Deletion is permanent: once you have clicked Confirm, the project can no longer be restored, either by you or by our team.
If you are unsure, we recommend keeping the original and deleting only the versions you are sure you no longer need.
3. What should I do if I want to edit a project and keep a reference version?
First duplicate the project, from My projects or from the editor's … menu, then work only on the copy.
This way, you can try new text or new photos on the duplicated version, while keeping your reference project intact.
4. Why is the Duplicate option grayed out in the editor?
Your project does not contain any slides yet. Add at least one slide to be able to duplicate it.
5. Can a colleague delete one of my projects?
Yes. All members of the account can duplicate and delete any project. Agree with each other before deleting a colleague's project.
Best practices 🎓
Always duplicate before making major changes to an important project (long campaigns, premium properties, frequently used designs), so you keep a reference version.
Rename your copies as soon as you create them, with clear titles (e.g. "Villa, Marseille, Facebook", "Apartment, Lyon, IG Story") so you can find your way around My projects more easily.
Regularly tidy up your projects by deleting the outdated ones (sold properties, old campaigns) to keep a clear and easy-to-use library.
