Setting up my brand identity on Danim 2

Set up your brand identity in Danim to automatically align the colors, logos and signatures across all your projects.

Written by Sophie Delpech

In brief

The Brand identity section lets you centralize your organization’s brand guidelines in Danim.

There you can manage:

  • Your color palettes

  • Your logos

  • Your cover image

  • Your signature details (name, company name, address, etc.)

Once set up, this brand identity is automatically applied to all your projects. If you have a team, it also applies to your team members’ projects.

Before you start 🎯

  • The Brand identity section is only available to the organization’s owners.

  • If your organization belongs to a network, the brand identity may already be set up and locked by the network.

  • If no brand guidelines have been set up yet, Danim can offer an automatic import via Brandfetch: all you need to do is add your website URL to automatically retrieve the main elements of your brand guidelines.

  • For the best result, prepare your logos as PNG files with no background, along with your cover image, before you start.

Setting up your brand identity

Step 1: Go to the Brand identity section

From your Danim dashboard, click Settings in the left-hand menu, at the bottom of the screen. On the settings page, then select the Brand identity section in the middle column. This is where you define your organization’s visual foundations.

Step 2: Check whether your brand guidelines can be edited

The Brand identity page is reserved for the organization’s owners. If you belong to a network, the brand guidelines may already be set up and shown as locked. In that case, you can view them, but you cannot edit every element.

Step 3: Import a first set of elements with Brandfetch

If no brand guidelines have been set up yet, Danim can offer you a quick start via Brandfetch.

All you need to do is paste your website URL in the field provided to automatically import some of your colors and logos, which you can then adjust manually.

Step 4: Add and configure your logos

In the Logo section, upload the visuals that will be used in your projects.

For the best result, we recommend using a PNG logo with no background. You can also configure several variants depending on how they are used:

  • Default logo

  • Signature logo

  • Logo for white backgrounds

  • Logo for colored backgrounds

Step 5: Define your color palettes

A palette is a set of colors that Danim automatically applies to your projects: slide backgrounds, text, graphic blocks or buttons. You can create several to vary the look of your projects while staying true to your brand guidelines.

In the Colors section, each palette is made up of:

  • a background color, required

  • a text color, required

  • a second background color, used for gradients, optional

  • an accent color, used for certain elements such as buttons or icons, optional

If you leave an optional color empty, Danim automatically replaces it with another color from the same palette.

Each palette has its own role:

  • Palette 1: your brand’s main palette

  • Palette 2: a neutral palette, created by default with a light background and dark text

  • Additional palettes: complementary palettes, added with the Add a palette button

We recommend keeping palette 2 as it is: it ensures a clean, readable look in your projects. To use other colors, add a palette 3 instead.

Step 6: Personalize your cover image and your signature

Complete your brand identity by adding:

  • Your organization’s signature details, such as the company name or address

  • A cover image

This information is shared across the whole organization. It can appear automatically in certain slides, making your projects more personalized and ready to use.

To add your personal contact details, such as your last name, first name or phone number, go to Personal information. Each member of the organization can fill in their own.

Step 7: Check the preview of your settings

On the right-hand side of the page, Danim shows a visual preview of your brand identity.

This preview updates as you adjust your settings and lets you check how your logos, colors and graphic elements look before you finalize your choices.

FAQ

1. I can’t find the Brand identity section, what should I do?
The section is located in Settings, then in the middle column, under the name Brand identity. Also check that you are an owner of the organization.

2. I can’t edit my brand guidelines, is that normal?
Yes. If you belong to a network that enforces its own brand guidelines, they may be shown as locked. You can view them, but you cannot edit every element.

3. Can I change colors if my brand guidelines are locked by my network?
Yes. You can adjust certain colors directly when creating or editing a project. These adjustments only apply to that project.

4. The Brandfetch button doesn’t appear, why?
The Brandfetch button only appears when no brand guidelines have been set up yet. If a brand identity already exists, the option is no longer offered.

5. Can I change my brand identity after setting it up?
Yes, as long as your brand guidelines are not locked by a network, you can go back to the Brand identity page to adjust your logos, colors, cover image or signature details.

Best practices 🎓

  • Fill in your Personal information with your last name, first name and phone number to personalize your signature. If you have a team, invite them to do the same.

  • Always check the preview on the right before finalizing your settings, especially after a Brandfetch import.

  • Align your Danim brand identity with your website and your other communication materials to keep a consistent image.
