Customizing the identity and advanced settings of a slide

Adapt the colors and logo of each slide, and fine-tune its layout, text and animations with advanced mode.

Written by Sophie Delpech

In the editor, each slide is customized with three tabs: Content, Identity and Advanced mode. This article presents the Identity and Advanced mode tabs.

In brief

  • Identity: the colors and the logo of the slide.

  • Advanced mode: fine settings for layout, size and animation.

  • The settings available vary from one slide to another: each slide only shows the ones that apply to it. If a slide has no settings of this kind, the tab does not appear.

  • Each change applies to the current slide only.

  • These two tabs are available with all plans.

  • On mobile and tablet, Identity and Advanced mode appear as expandable blocks, below the content of the slide.

The Identity tab

By default, each slide uses your agency's brand identity (Settings > Brand identity). The Identity tab lets you adapt it, slide by slide.

Colors

Depending on the slide, you will find 1 to 4 palettes (Palette 1, Palette 2, and so on). Each palette combines:

  • a background color, solid or gradient;

  • a text color;

  • an accent color, if the slide uses one.

Each palette is represented by a swatch that sums up its colors:

  • the background of the swatch shows the background color (as a gradient if the palette has one);

  • the letter T is shown in the text color;

  • the thick outline, when there is one, shows the accent color;

  • the highlighted swatch (larger and clearly visible) is the one applied to the slide; the others are faded.

The swatch only shows the colors used by the slide: if the slide has no accent, for example, the outline does not appear.

For each palette, you can:

  • choose a palette from your brand: click one of the swatches offered;

  • create a palette for this slide: click +, choose your colors, then Create palette. To edit it later, click the pencil icon, then Apply.

A palette created in the editor does not change your brand identity.

The logo

Depending on the slide, you can:

  • change the logo displayed, or the version used on a colored background;

  • choose its position on the slide;

  • adjust its size;

  • set its opacity;

  • move it closer to or further from the edge of the slide.

The Advanced mode tab

Advanced mode is used to fine-tune how a slide looks. The default values are already set: you do not need to touch them to get a great result.

Please note: you will not find all these settings on every slide. Each slide only offers the ones that have an effect on its layout.

The list below brings together all the settings you may come across, from one slide to another.

Text

  • Maximum text size: from Very small to Very large. The text adapts to the space available without exceeding this size. Some slides let you set each text separately.

  • Maximum text length: width taken up by a text before it wraps to the next line.

  • Line spacing: tightens or loosens the lines of the same text.

  • Text position: where the text block sits on the slide.

  • Alignment: text aligned left, centered or right.

  • Text margins: space between the text and the edge of its box.

  • Outlined text: displays the text in hollow letters.

  • Alternating color: alternates the color from one line of text to the next.

Boxes, media and background

  • Box opacity: makes the background of text boxes more or less transparent.

  • Box corners and outline: rounded corners and border around text boxes.

  • Maximum media size: from Very small to Very large.

  • Media corners and outline: rounded corners and border around photos and videos.

  • Filter opacity: darkens or lightens the background image to make the text easier to read.

  • Layout margins: shifts all the elements horizontally or vertically.

  • Apply a gradient: replaces a solid background with a gradient.

  • Design variants: for example simplifying the design, switching to a rounded design or changing the style of list check marks.

Animations and pace

  • Entrance animation: how the elements appear (slide in from a direction, fade, zoom in, zoom out, or no animation).

  • Animation direction: the direction the elements come in from.

  • Duration of the entrance and exit animations.

  • Exit animation: makes the elements disappear at the end of the slide.

  • Animation delay: makes the elements come in one after the other rather than at the same time.

  • Text appearance time: when the text appears in the slide.

  • Animation intensity: range of the movement, from 0% to 100%.

  • Text animation: animate the text horizontally, vertically, with a rotation or a fade, letter by letter, word by word or line by line.

  • Slide speed (%): speeds up or slows down the whole slide.

Each change is visible immediately in the preview.

FAQ

Why can't I see the Identity or Advanced mode tab?
The selected slide does not offer this kind of setting. Select another slide to check.

Why don't I have the same settings from one slide to another?
Each slide has its own layout and only offers the settings that have an effect on it.

I changed the colors of my brand identity, why hasn't my project changed?
Projects that are already saved keep their colors. Reopen the project and select the palette again in the Identity tab of each slide. Your new projects use the new colors directly.

Can my team members change our brand identity?
No, only the account owner can change the brand identity. However, each user can create palettes in the editor, without touching the brand identity.

Our network has its own brand guidelines: can I use my agency's colors?
Yes, by creating a palette with + in the Identity tab. The network's guidelines stay unchanged.

Can I change the font?
Not at the moment. The font is set by each slide.

Good to know

  • The settings available depend on the selected slide, not on your plan.

  • Changes only apply to the current slide. To make a project consistent, repeat the setting on each slide.

  • The font cannot be changed at the moment: it is set by the slide.
