Writing and customizing your posts

Switch from one network to another, write a text for each post and apply it to all your networks in one click.

Written by Sophie Delpech

In brief

When you create a post, you prepare all your posts in one go: one per social network and per post type (Post, Reel, Story).

For each one, you write the text and check the media. The same text can be reused everywhere with Apply to all networks, then adjusted network by network.

Before you start 🎯

Choosing networks and post types

In the Social media step, tick the accounts and, for each one, the post type:

  • Facebook and Instagram: Post / Reel and Story;

  • LinkedIn and TikTok: Post.

Switching from one post to another

In the Post content step:

  • click a network in the left menu;

  • then click a post type to display the matching post.

Each post has its own text and its own media. Switch from one to another as often as you like: what you have typed is kept.

Writing the text

Type your text in the Description field. A few rules depending on the network:

  • No text on a Story: on Instagram and Facebook, a Story is posted without a description.

  • Hashtags: 5 maximum on Instagram and TikTok. The counter below the field warns you if you go over.

  • Links: on Instagram, links in the description are not clickable.

  • Length: up to 2,200 characters on Instagram and TikTok, 3,000 on LinkedIn.

If you post without text, Danim asks you to confirm with Post anyway.

Applying the same text to all networks

Write your text once, then click Apply to all networks and confirm with Apply. The text is copied into all the posts in progress.

If the text does not follow the rules of a network (too many hashtags, for example), the message The applied content needs adjustments shows which posts to correct.

You can then adapt the text of each post: shorter on Instagram and TikTok, more detailed on Facebook and LinkedIn.

Checking the media

Danim automatically chooses the format best suited to the network and the post type. If a better-suited format exists for your project, the Optimize playback box tells you.

Changing the format

  1. Below the media, click Change format.

  2. Choose one of your project's formats:

    • Square · 1:1: news feed;

    • Portrait · 9:16: Story, Reel, Short;

    • Landscape · 16:9: website, news feed, TV;

    • Reduced portrait · 4:5: mobile news feed.

  3. Click Confirm.

The preview updates with the new format. To use the same media on all your posts, click Apply to all networks in the Media block.

A grayed-out format does not exist for your project (see FAQ 5). On a Story, the Format does not exist label means that your project has no Portrait · 9:16 format.

Good to know

Seeing the result before posting

The Preview, on the right of the screen, shows your post as it will appear on the network: your page name, the text, the media in its format and the layout specific to each network and post type (news feed, Reel, Story, TikTok).

It updates with every change. Switch from one network or post type to another to check each post: text length (with See more), media framing, elements hidden by the network's buttons on a Story or a Reel.

Saving for later

No time to finish? Click Save draft at the top of the screen to pick up your posts later.

FAQ

1. Why can't I write text on my Story?

Instagram and Facebook do not allow a description on a Story. If you want text, add it directly to your project.

2. Does the Apply to all networks button replace texts I have already typed?

Yes, it copies the text into all the posts in progress. Use it first, then customize each post.

3. A message tells me I have too many hashtags.

Instagram and TikTok accept 5 hashtags maximum. Remove some until the counter is back under the limit.

4. I can't select TikTok or Reel for my image.

TikTok only accepts videos, and Reels are for videos only. For an image, choose Post on Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn.

5. The format I need is not offered.

Your project does not contain this format. A project includes all the formats of its template: if a format is grayed out, the template does not offer it.

For an older project, open it at the Sharing step, select the format above the preview, then click Generate videos (or Generate images) in the New format detected box.

6. One of my networks does not appear.

Check its connection in Settings > Network connections.

Best practices 🎓

  • Start from a shared text, apply it to all networks, then adjust each post.

  • Take care of the first lines: a clear hook makes people want to read on.

  • Choose a few targeted hashtags (#realestate, #homebuying, #rental) rather than a long list.

  • On Instagram, avoid links in the text: invite people to click the link in your profile instead.
