In brief
With Danim, you can also post media that was not created with Danim on your social media: a photo taken with your phone, a video made elsewhere or a visual designed in another tool.
You import the image or video from your device, directly from the calendar, then post it right away or schedule it, just like a Danim project.
Before you start 🎯
Check that your social networks are connected in Settings > Network connections.
Media is imported from your device in the Calendar, with the Create a post button.
Your media is posted in its original format: prepare it in the ratio suited to the target network.
For a video, export it as MP4 with the H.264 codec: this is the setting that all browsers can play (see the FAQ).
Posting media imported from your device
Step 1: Open the calendar and create a post
Click Calendar in the left side menu.
Then click the Create a post button, in the top right corner.
Step 2: Choose the social networks
In the Social media step, choose the platforms you want to post on (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn) and the post type (post, Reel, story, etc.).
You can post on a single social network or on several at the same time. Click Next to go to the next step.
Step 3: Import your media and write your text
In the Post content phase, select the social network in the left menu.
In the Media section, click My device, then choose the image or video to post from your computer or phone.
Then type your text in the Description field. The preview, on the right of the screen, shows what your post will look like.
Repeat this for each selected social network.
Step 4: Post or schedule
At the bottom of the screen, the Posting date field is set to Now. To post right away, click Post now.
To schedule your post, click the calendar icon next to the date, then choose the date and time you want.
Prefer to finish later? Click Save draft, at the top right.
FAQ
1. Will my media be adapted automatically to each network's format?
No. The automatic format choice only applies to Danim projects, which are generated in all ratios. Media imported from your device is posted in its original format. To find out which ratio to use for each network, see: How to choose the right format (ratio) for each social network.
2. Where can I find my post once it is scheduled?
In the Calendar, with the Scheduled status. You can edit or delete it as long as it has not been published: How to use the Danim posting calendar.
3. Can I post a Danim project the same way?
Yes. In step 3, click My Danim projects instead of My device, then choose a project from your My projects library.
4. Which files can I import from my device?
Images: JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg), PNG, WEBP, AVIF, SVG, HEIC, HEIF and TIFF.
Videos: MP4, MOV and WEBM, up to 15 minutes and 5 GB per file.
If your file is not accepted, the message Unsupported format appears when you import it.
5. My imported video will not play: what should I do?
Export it again as MP4 with the H.264 codec, then import it again. Some export settings, such as the H.265 (HEVC) codec, 10-bit color or HDR, cannot be played by all browsers. In your editing software, choose the H.264 codec and turn off HDR.
Best practices 🎓
Prepare your media in the right ratio. Vertical (9:16) for Stories, Reels and TikTok, square (1:1) or reduced portrait (4:5) for the news feed, landscape (16:9) for longer videos.
Use sharp, good-resolution files. A blurry or pixelated photo does not do your agency's image any favors.
Adapt the text to each network. Shorter on Instagram and TikTok, more detailed on Facebook and LinkedIn.
Check the preview before posting. It helps you spot framing or text that needs adjusting.
