How to manage sharing of your social media accounts in Danim 2

Give your team access to your social media accounts for posting, without ever sharing your login details.

In brief

On the Network connections page, you can choose to keep your social media accounts private or share them with your team, without ever handing over your login details.

In an organization with several users, this lets you work as a team securely: everyone stays in control of their own connections while giving access to the pages needed for posting.

Before you start 🎯

  • Account sharing is only available with a Team plan.

  • Only the person who connected the account (the owner of the social media account) can manage sharing, reconnect or disconnect the account. The other members only see the shared accounts.

  • Sharing is done at the entity level (Facebook pages, Instagram accounts, LinkedIn profiles, and so on), not for the whole network at once.

How to manage sharing of your social media accounts

Step 1: Go to Danim and the Settings page

Log in to your Danim dashboard (https://beta.danim.com/), then click Settings in the left side menu and select Network connections.

Step 2: Share an account

Find the account you want to share with your team (Facebook page, Instagram account, and so on), then click the ⚙️ Manage sharing icon.

Turn on the Share this account option, then click Confirm.

If you want to turn off sharing later, you can follow the same steps and simply turn off the Share this account option.

FAQ

1. Who can manage sharing of a social media account in Danim 2?

Only the person who originally connected the account (the owner of the social media account) can:

  • turn the Share this account option on or off

  • reconnect an expired account

  • fully disconnect the account from Danim

The other members of the organization can see and use only the shared pages / profiles, but do not have access to sensitive actions on the account.

2. My colleagues cannot see an account even though it is connected in Danim. Why?

There are several possible reasons:

  • The account or the page / profile in question is still private: you need to turn on the Share this account option in ⚙️ Manage sharing to make it visible to the team.

  • The account connection is in Connection expired status: the entities are still listed on your side, but posting is blocked. Your colleagues will not be able to post until you have clicked Reconnect and completed the process.

3. What happens if I disconnect a shared account?

When you disconnect an account:

  • The account is removed from Danim.

  • The associated pages / profiles are no longer available for posting.

  • Scheduled posts linked to this account may be canceled or moved back to draft, depending on the rules set for your organization.

Remember to let your team know before disconnecting, especially if posts are already scheduled.

Best practices 🎓

  • Only share the pages / profiles your team needs (for example: the agency page, not your test accounts).

  • Keep your more sensitive or personal accounts private, even if they are connected to Danim.

  • Regularly check the connection status (green / orange badge) of your shared accounts to avoid unpleasant surprises when it is time to post.

  • When a team member leaves, quickly go through the Network connections page to review the shared accounts and adjust if needed.

  • Keep never sharing your social media login details: always use account sharing in Danim rather than logging in directly to your colleagues' accounts.
