Why can't I connect Facebook to Danim?

Identify the most common errors and check the settings needed to connect your Facebook Page correctly.

Written by Sophie Delpech

In brief

If you cannot connect Facebook to Danim, the problem may come from your account settings, your browser or directly from Meta.

In this article, we help you check the most common causes that you can fix:

  • You are using a personal Facebook profile instead of a professional Facebook Page.

  • You do not have full control of the Facebook Page.

  • Your professional Facebook Page is not linked to your professional Instagram account.

  • Your browser is blocking the Facebook window needed for the connection.

Before you start 📝

These settings are essential to connect your social media accounts correctly and post from Danim.

  • In some cases, however, the error message may come directly from Meta.

  • If all the settings described in this article are correct and the problem persists, we recommend that you contact our support team.

We will now check, step by step, the three key elements:

  • That you do have a professional Facebook Page, as it is common to confuse a public profile with a Page.

  • That your professional Instagram account is linked to your Facebook Page

  • That you have full control of this Page.

Step 1: Check your personal Facebook account and your Pages

Log in to your personal Facebook account:

  • First, log in to your personal Facebook account. It is from this account that you can access your professional Facebook Page.

  • Then click your profile picture at the top right of the screen. You will then see the Facebook Pages linked to your personal profile.

  • Depending on the version of Facebook, these Pages may also appear in the menu on the left or right of the screen.

Step 2: Check whether you are on a personal profile or a Facebook Page

To be sure you are in the right place:

  • First click your personal account.

  • From your personal profile, the menu is specific. For example, if you see an icon showing two people, it means you are on a personal profile, not on a professional Facebook Page.

Then go back to the menu and click your Facebook Page.

  • When you are on a Facebook Page, the menu changes compared with the personal profile. You no longer see the two-people icon, and other icons appear, such as a flag or insights.

  • On the left side, you can also see a menu showing Manage Page.

  • If you see this type of interface, it means you are on a professional Facebook Page, not on your personal profile. This is the Page that will be used to post from Danim.

Step 3: Open Meta Business Suite

Once you are on your professional Facebook Page:

  1. Look at the menu on the left.

  2. Click Meta Business Suite.

Meta Business Suite lets you:

  • Manage your Facebook Page

  • Manage your professional Instagram account and check that it is linked to your Facebook Page.

  • Manage the access and permissions related to your business: this is where you will check whether you have full control of the Page.

Step 4: Check that your professional Instagram account is linked to your Facebook Page and that you have full control of the Page

1. Check the Facebook and Instagram icons.

If the Instagram icon appears in black and white, it means that your professional Instagram account is not linked to your Facebook Page. If it appears in color, the two accounts are linked.

In Meta Business Suite, you can check whether you have full control of your Facebook Page.

  1. Click the button above Home, where the Facebook and Instagram icons appear.

  2. Then click Business settings.

From this section, you can check:

  • Which Pages are linked to your business

Which users have which access levels

  • Whether you, with your personal Facebook profile, have full control of the Page.

For the connection to work properly and for you to be able to post from Danim to Facebook and Instagram, you must have full control of the Facebook Page.

FAQ

1. Why is full control essential?

If you do not have full control of the Facebook Page, Danim will not be able to connect your social media accounts correctly.

This can happen, for example, if:

  • Someone else originally created the Facebook Page

  • You only have limited access

  • You are not an admin of the Page

  • The Page is managed by another account or another Meta business (agency, service provider, former colleague, etc.)

In these cases, even if you can see the Page on Facebook, you will not be able to connect it to Danim to post your content.

2. What should I do if I do not have full control of the Page?

If someone else created the Facebook Page or manages it today, you need to ask them to add you with access that includes full control.

This person may be, for example:

  • A former colleague

  • A communication or marketing agency

  • A communication manager

  • The person who originally created the Page.

Explain to them that:

  • You need admin access / full control;

  • This access is required to connect the Page to Danim and post your content.

If you cannot recover this control (for example, if no one has access to the account that managed the Page anymore), you will need to create a new professional Facebook Page

3. Can I connect a personal Facebook profile to Danim?

No. Danim only works with professional Facebook Pages.

Your personal profile is used to manage the Page (admin role), but:

  • Nothing is posted on your personal profile

  • All posts go only to your professional Page.

4. Can I post on Instagram if I do not have a Facebook Page?

No. To post on Instagram via Danim, you must:

  • Have a professional Instagram account linked to a professional Facebook Page

  • Have full control of this Facebook Page.

Without this setup on the Meta side, the Instagram connection will fail or will not show the right account.

Best practices 🎓

  • Always check first that you are on a professional Facebook Page and not on your personal profile.

  • Always go through Meta Business Suite to check your access rights: you must have full control of the Page you want to connect.

  • If you work with an agency or a service provider, clarify who has full control and, if necessary, ask to be added with the right access level.

  • If an error message still persists, check your Meta notifications (Facebook / Instagram): it may be a temporary restriction or a security verification request.
